Just a jump to the left

And a step to the right! Yes Rocky fans, I crossed the movie with Evo, being obsessed with the cartoon as I am.

I am a Rocky fan, it’s the only musical I can stand. An ex-friend got me into it and this year I finally brought the 25th anniversary dvd pack and LOVE it! In fact I had it playing in the background most of the time I was colouring this, firstly for getting the colours on the costumes right and because all those wonderful songs were great inspiration.

The reason the Evo crews costumes are not perfect replicas is because I wanted it to feel like they just threw something together for a fun night out. That and I want to keep a bit of their own personality in it, thus most of their hair is normal (not coloured) or they are carrying/wearing items they do in normal life. Like Remy’s coat instead of Doctor F’s cape.

For those who don’t know the Rocky characters: John is Eddie, Wanda is Columbia, Rogue Magenta, Remy Docter Frank-N-Furter, Piotr a rather embarrassed Rocky, and Kitty is Janet in the stage show scene, as I didn’t want her to be left out as just one of the Transylvanians, and normal Janet I always seen as Jean. (Come on people! Jean and Scott are so Janet and Brad!)
Also for those who don’t know, each (other than Piotr, I thought I had embarrassed him enough without adding something else, but I was tempted to put a party hat on him) are carrying items used during the showings of the movie for audience participation. John’s newspapers are used during the rain scene with Janet holding them over her head, as is Wanda’s water gun that is used to make rain. Rogue’s party toys are during the creation of Rocky scene and the celebration of Dr. Frank’s ‘genius’ and Remy’s exploding confetti is thrown later in that scene after Eddie’s death. Kitty’s gloves are from the same part of the movie, when they need to be snapped three times when Dr. F has them on his hands.

Oh, and I love how Piotr and Kitty turned out in this! My first time drawing Wanda (I messed up her hat) and second time at John, Piotr and Kitty, but I did mess up Remy's face. It is hard putting lipstick on that man. And glittery pieces for all of them!
